Drawodu is a fine arts practice founded by Mubarak Dawodu.

Mubarak's art reflects his deep connection to nature, a vibrant palette of colors, and a meticulous attention to detail. Drawing inspiration from the beauty and diversity of the natural world, his work takes on an abstract form that captures the essence of landscapes and organic forms.

Having lived in three different countries, Mubarak has been exposed to a rich mix of cultures and heritage which have also influenced his art. This fusion of influences adds layers of depth and complexity to his work, creating a unique visual language that speaks to the universal themes of beauty, growth, and transformation.

Through his art, Mubarak seeks to evoke a sense of wonder and awe, inviting viewers to immerse themselves in a world of color, texture, and form. Each piece is a visual journey that invites contemplation and exploration, inviting viewers to connect with their own experiences and emotions.

Mubarak's hope is that his art serves as a bridge between the natural world and the human spirit, sparking a sense of connection and appreciation for the beauty that surrounds us.

He established an alignment with Abstract expressionism and deconstructivism, which was expressed in some of his early experimental pieces. He develops ideas with a level of curiosity and intention that allows for depth and higher ordered thinking. His work shows strong elements of conceptual enquiry, with a desire to continue investigating mediums, techniques, and processes.

What sets Mubarak apart is his innovative approach to exploring mediums with a contemporary twist. He constantly pushes the boundaries of traditional techniques, experimenting with different materials and methods to create aesthetically strong yet thought-provoking works. The lines of inquiry are thorough and intriguing. Mubarak produces original and engaging pieces that can exist within a wider contemporary context, beginning a dialectical conversation blending tradition with context and open to exploring the language of the materials.

Once Mubarak establishes a concept and a process, he pursues it with clarity, playfulness, and a clear desire to exhaust all avenues of possibilities. His analytical skills sit alongside an open-mind that is creatively strong.

Mubarak is determined yet holds independent motivation, while being open to experimenting and making evaluative and critical choices in his own works.
